Reward expiry

Last updated on Jul 27, 2026

By default, rewards issued through your loyalty program do not expire. Customers can use the discount codes they receive at any time.

If you set an expiry period for rewards, customers must use their discount codes within that timeframe. Adding an expiry period limits how long customers have to use their codes after they are issued. Once the expiry period has passed, the discount code becomes invalid and cannot be applied to an order.

Setting Up Reward Expiry

You can apply reward expiries to the following reward types:

  • Free shipping

  • Percentage-off discount

  • Fixed-amount discount

  • Free product reward

  • Subscription discount

Note: Reward expiry also applies to rewards included in your VIP program.

How to Set Up a Reward Expiry

Follow these steps to set an expiry period for a reward:

  1. Go to the Stamp Program.

  2. Select a reward (for example, a percentage-off discount).

  3. Scroll down to Stamp Expiry.

  4. Open the dropdown menu and choose one of the following options:

    • 3 days

    • 7 days

    • 1 month

    • 2 months

    • 3 months

    • 6 months

    • 1 year

  5. Click Save.

Once saved, the expiry period will start when a customer redeems a reward using stamps or reaches a VIP tier that includes the reward. After the expiry date, the discount code will no longer be valid.

Reward Expiry Notifications

To help customers use their rewards on time, you can enable expiry notifications. These notifications remind customers when their discount codes are approaching their expiration date.

This helps improve redemption rates and reduces unused rewards.
